A Note Before You Begin

She’s a Tomboy started as one woman’s wardrobe rebellion, a corner of the internet about menswear on a woman’s body, and the particular boldness of dressing exactly how you feel rather than how you’re told to.

If you’ve been here since then, thank you. You watched something take shape before it knew what it was becoming.

It’s become something else now, though not something new. Same woman. Same nerve. A different chapter.

I’m Rael. I split my life between different places, the way a lot of us now do. One foot in the place that raised us, one in the place we’re building something new. I’ve spent the years since that old blog doing what most of us do in our thirties and forties: building a career, building a home twice over, learning more than I expected to about money, watching my parents age in ways no one prepared me for, and figuring out slowly, imperfectly, what adulthood actually looks like once you stop measuring it against what you were promised.

I’ll get things wrong sometimes, or write about something before I’ve fully worked it out. That’s the deal I’m offering: honesty over polish.

Welcome. Or welcome back.
